Liz Frissell is a M4C-funded PhD student at the University of Nottingham (UK), where her research focuses on Stoicism and psychotherapy.
In her free time she enjoys reading sci-fi and horror novels and playing volleyball and football.
Liz's project as a BSHP Ambassador is to create a pilot of a new online resource for learning and teaching niche areas in the history of philosophy. The first page that Liz is putting together is on Stoicism's impact on psychotherapy.

We launched our Ambassador Scheme in 2025. Ambassadors are postgraduate students or early-career researchers working on any area of the history of philosophy who do not yet have permanent posts.
In return for their contribution to the work of the Society, Ambassadors receive a mentor, workshop partipation, professional training, and a fee-waiver for BSHP memberssship and conference attendance. Find oout more about the scheme and the other ambassadors here.
