Annual Conference

Events

The BSHP holds a wide range of conferences and events, and supports many more through its funding schemes.

  • The BSHP Annual Conference, at which the Annual General Meeting is held, takes place every spring at a UK university. Normally, in even-numbered years, we hold themed conferences, and in odd-numbered years we hold larger, general conferences.
  • The BSHP Annual Lecture, now named the Antognazza Lecture, featuring a distinguished speaker in the history of philosophy, takes place every autumn.
  • We collaborate with the Forum for Philosophy to deliver a series of public-oriented, open-access events in history of philosophy in London.
  • We support a wide range of history of philosophy conferences, workshops, and events, within the UK and internationally. See here for upcoming events that we support.
  • BSHP members may apply for funding for conferences and events. To learn more, see our pages on funding and becoming a member.
