Graduate Essay Prize Competition

The 2021 BSHP Graduate Essay Prize competition will be open for submissions between 1 and 30 November.

The prize of £1000 is awarded annually to the writer of an essay that makes a significant contribution to the history of philosophy. The competition is open to all graduate students, anywhere in the world, studying any subject. The Prize winner is announced at the BSHP annual conference, and the winner is usually encouraged to submit their paper for consideration to the British Journal for the History of Philosophy.

Papers must be no more than 10,000 words, be written in English, be accompanied by an abstract and bibliography, be prepared for blind refereeing, and not have been submitted to any journal, publication, or competition (including previous BSHP competitions).
