Founding Member of the British Society for the History of Philosophy and Founding Editor of the British Journal for the History of Philosophy
In Memoriam
Professor G.A.J. Rogers (1938-2022)
Founding Member of the British Society for the History of Philosophy and Founding Editor of the British Journal for the History of Philosophy
It is with great sadness that we share the news that Professor G.A.J. Rogers (Keele) passed away in November. John Rogers was one of a small group of historians of philosophy who were instrumental in founding the BSHP. He led the BJHP from its establishment in 1993 through to 2011. The BJHP long-standing annual award for the finest research article, the Rogers Prize, bears his name to this day in his honour.
Please find here an appreciation by Professor Sarah Hutton on the occasion of John’s retirement as Editor of the BJHP.
Our Society and its Journal owe him a great debt of gratitude.
